Women's football in India

Women's football in India  is growing in popularity in spite of the apathetic attitude of the  All India Football Federation , and the governing body's inability to pump in the necessary funds into the game Women's football has not had the relative head start over the rest of the world that the men's game has had, and also has not had the chance to spread through the country like its male counterpart. The Women’s FA (WFA) was formed in 1969 and within three years the first 'Women’s FA Cup Final' and England Women’s international had been played.
